Working into the night on Wednesday after production staff had left for the day.
We provided this Hibox HPU to the client to work with a new punching station that they had manufactured. This was sent to France to allow for the manufacturer to complete their setup and factory acceptance.
This evening we were asked to come back to site and install new hoses in place of the manufacturers, making it all neat and tidy. This also enabled us to get to grips with the new hiTag system that the client is keen to get on board with.
Whilst checking the system after installing the hoses, it was noted that the HPU was heating up extremely quickly which was unusual. Further inspection showed that the PRV, Accumulator safety valve and accumulator unloading valve had all been adjusted which was causing them all to fight each other. Once these were re-set to the correct values, it was noted that the motor did not look to be spinning fast enough. It turned out the motor was only running at 700rpm, rather than the 1450.
The customers inhouse electrician diagnosed the driver as the limiting factor so he is going to change it out for a suitable unit to provide the desired speed.
So all in all, the job turned out to be so much more than was planned but we had it ready for production to start in the morning.
